Collaborative law divorce

If you are contemplating divorce, stop and think about collaborative law divorce before you do anything else.

This is especially true if you want to maintain a friendly relationship – for the sake of your children if nothing else.  If you and your spouse can agree on all the marital issues, there is no need for a courtroom.  Collaborative law divorces are less expensive than a trial and usually more private.

You and your spouse have your own attorney.  The process encourages open disclosure between the two parties.  The goal is to bring about open communication and avoid threats of litigation.  It is not appropriate in cases where domestic abuse is involved.
