Temporary child visitation

Resolving child custody and visitation issues during a divorce can be very challenging.  However, no matter how much stress is involved, you and your spouse need to put your differences aside and act in the best interest of your child.

After the initial divorce papers are filed, the family court will hold a hearing to issue temporary orders regarding family issues that are relevant while the divorce is pending.   An example includes if child custody is contested by either spouse.  If this is the case, the court will create a temporary custody arrangement that does not necessarily have a bearing on which parent will be awarded permanent custody (see California Family Code 2045(b).

Each family is different and needs to find the best solution for custody arrangements.  If you are going through a divorce and a child custody dispute, contact an experienced Orange County Family Law attorney who can be a valuable resource in working out a fair custody arrangement for you and your child.
