Paternity test

Paternity is a word used to describe fatherhood and relates to a child born outside of a marriage relationship where there is a question as to who the father of the child is.

If this is the case, the man is required to take a paternity test to establish parental rights and responsibilities.  Paternity, unfortunately, is not always established at the time of the child’s birth.

If you are being accused of fatherhood and you are not sure if you are indeed the child’s father, it is important to seek legal help. Establishing paternity enables a child to receive child support and a father to receive visitation rights.

If you need help establishing paternity, contact an Orange County Family Law attorney who can help you through this difficult situation and help you set up a workable arrangement if you prove to be the child’s father.
