Actor Mickey Rooney is once again in the news. The 90-year old actor is suing his stepson and other family members on allegations that they tricked him into thinking he was on the verge of poverty.
All the while they defrauded him out of millions of dollars. He has filed a lawsuit against family members for breach of fiduciary trust, elder abuse and fraud. The claim says that his stepson had access to his income. In addition, the stepson convinced Rooney that he had to continue working if he did not want to lose his home of medical benefits.
Elder abuse happens to anyone, even celebrities. No one deserves to be abused whether physically, emotionally or financially.
