Filing for divorce is the beginning to the end of your marriage. What happens if once you’ve filed for divorce, you and your spouse work out your differences and want to stay together?
You now want to cancel the divorce proceedings, withdraw the divorce papers and continue with your marriage. Once the divorce papers have been filed, the outcome rests in the hands of the court.
What needs to be done?:
- The spouse who filed for divorce must go to the courthouse, seek the court clerk, and withdraw the divorce petition
- You will have to fill out an application for the withdrawal of your divorce petition
- Once the application is completed, the divorce case will be terminated
