Can a father change the custody arrangements?

When couples first get married, they think they will be married forever.  They start planning their future together.  They buy a house, a car, and then the first child is born.

Everything is going along well; all are happy.  All of a sudden, without any notice, the wife wants a divorce.  They actually agree to everything, even joint custody of their child.  Years pass by and a new boyfriend comes to live with the ex-wife and her child.  The former husband does not approve and decides to seek a transfer of custody.

The former husband must petition the court for the change.  He must show evidence that a change has occurred and it would be in the best interests of the child if custody was modified.  The court will review the evidence and make a decision after looking at all factors very closely.
