Restraining Orders & Threats

If you are a victim of domestic violence, a restraining order may be necessary for your safety.

A restraining order is a court order that helps protect people like you from physical or mental abuse. The restrained person can be ordered to stay away from you and your children, pay child support, and move out of the home immediately.

Recently, the estranged wife of rocker Jack White filed a restraining order against him after she stated that he threatened her. She fears for her safety and that of her children. In the filing, Karen Elson stated that “White has a violent temper, sends her emails laced with profanity and calls her derogatory names”.

White denied making threats against his estranged wife in a court filing that responded to her request for a temporary restraining order. He has asked the court to establish a temporary parenting plan.
