Cooperating while divorcing

The divorce process consists of three parts: separation, financial matters and healing.  It has been proven that two people working together instead of against each other, could come up with an agreement that is favored by both.  Cooperating while divorcing can be an asset.

When cooperating with each other, the couple needs to know how to separate emotions from the business at hand.  They need to sit down and arrive at goals that are not hard to reach; they need to have a positive attitude towards each other – no matter how hard it may be.  Working together will bring satisfaction and faster healing.

Working in a hostile environment can turn your emotions into your enemy.  A mediator is a good start – he or she can help you separate your emotions and address the issues that need to be discussed and resolved.  A negative attitude does not help anyone. Cooperation is the key to a successful and favorable divorce agreement.
