What are irreconcilable differences?

Irreconcilable differences are the number one cause for divorce in California.  Do you know what that actually means?

If you and your spouse are continually fighting and never have any peace or quiet time in your relationship, you are most probably not a compatible match and will most probably never be able to work through your differences together.  Constant fighting is not healthy for any relationship.

It is normal for any two people in a relationship to argue and have conflicts.  If they can work through their conflicts and come out better for it, that is considered a good compatible match.  If the two of you are not able to compromise, this is not a good situation. It is okay to fight in a nice way as long as you work out your problems together.

If you and your partner have goals that are too irreconcilable, you should consider ending the relationship.  Chances are you are not good for each other.  Different personalities can also become a factor in determining the fate of your relationship.  Opposites are said to attract, but differing personalities can cause major conflicts.

If you and your spouse have irreconcilable differences regarding all aspects in your life, it may be time to consult with an experienced Orange County Family Law attorney who can set you on the road to a better future.
