Man accused of scamming elderly people

A 45-year old man was recently arrested on suspicion of selling walk-in bathtubs designed for disabled or elderly people, but never delivering them.  He has not returned any deposits or money paid up front for bathtubs that sell for about $7,500.

He is facing felony charges.  He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail in Orange County Jail on suspicion of burglary, financial elder abuse and grand theft through false pretense.  According to reports, he has scammed elderly people in Riverside County also.

Several people have come forward saying they are victims.  He is also accused of stealing $2,000 form an 80-year old Laguna Woods resident who is blind in one eye; he used the woman’s credit card without her authorization.
