California specific guidelines on paying child support

The state of California has specific guidelines that determine the amount of child support that should be paid in order to ensure that your child receives proper care.  It is up to both parents to provide for their child, both financially and emotionally until at least 18 years old.

When determining the amount of child support, the court considers the incomes of the parents, the child custody arrangement and any special needs of the child or the parent.

Circumstances can easily change over time – you can lose your job, your ex-spouse can get a raise, illness can come into the picture.   If your circumstances have significantly changed and you need a modification for your child support obligations, contact an experienced Orange County Family Law attorney who can help you resolve your support issues in a favorable manner.
